Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for reading this post. I just wanted to share a bit about my photography journey. I don’t have formal training; instead, I’ve learned a lot from reading, watching videos, and chatting with other photographers. Learning is a continuous process for all of us. Recently, I’ve been sharing my photos on social media to share my work with the world.
It’s great to let others see my perspective through photography. However, I’ve also faced some criticism from more experienced photographers, which I find amusing. Why do I find it amusing? Well, I’m retired from the military and don’t really care about others’ opinions of my work, as long as it doesn’t affect my personal life, family, or health. It’s all about my own vision and creativity. If someone doesn’t like my photos, that’s their loss. I’m always looking to learn more and welcome feedback.
I see photography as a fun and therapeutic way to express my creativity. Like any skill, it’s a journey filled with learning and making mistakes. The only way to improve is to keep going. This might seem like a rant, but it’s something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. I’m sharing this for anyone interested in starting their own photography journey or any other creative path.
I’ve been part of the Guitars 4 Vets program, where I’ve always wanted to learn the guitar. Music, especially for veterans like me, is a great way to improve mental health. My instructor, Curt Bean, has been amazing in helping me find peace and serenity through music.
In conclusion, don’t let anyone discourage you from pursuing what you’re passionate about. Creativity is about doing something for yourself, not for others. Keep learning, living, and most importantly, helping those who need it. Thanks for reading!
